BEHIND THE SONG

Representing the depression stage, «Podrás llamar?» was the first song I wrote, inspired by recent events and my romantic breakup. While writing it, I felt as though a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, as I was able to channel my emotions at that moment through the lyrics. The production of this song is one of my favorites, particularly the use of the violin in the outro and the harmonies in the final chorus. I believe it expresses what can be described as a «seek for help,» which I intended to convey through this track. Additionally, for this song, I recorded different vocal layers for each chorus, aiming to convey distinct emotions in each. This was done to represent how frustration and depression escalate over time, or in this case, how they intensify as the song progresses.

THE VIDEO

Filmed on December 21, 2024, and January 11, 2025, the music video for «Podrás llamar?» was directed by Darien Romani, a passionate videographer and close friend of mine, who sought to express his vision of depression and the loss of self within this project. He chose to depict an individual in constant waiting, hoping to recover the memories and experiences that remain in the past. The video was filmed in Coquitlam, Canada. What was truly remarkable is that we began the shoot amidst heavy rain, and as we filmed the scenes where the character reconnects with themselves, the rain ceased, allowing the landscape to transform into a calm and subtle scene, perfectly mirroring the tone of the song.
